Let’s Fight Illeteracy, One Manga at a Time.
For a lot of people, especially in todays world of screens, reading just is no longer fun. It’s work. It’s frustrating. It’s slow, especially if you struggle with letters, or if English isn’t your first language. That’s where manga steps in like a quiet superhero.
Manga is visual. It’s expressive. It guides the reader with art, tone, pacing, and emotion. Even if you’re struggling with the words, the pictures help you stay connected to the story. That’s a huge confidence booster for new or hesitant readers. It turns the experience from “I don’t get this” to “I want to know what happens next!”
Plus, manga isn’t afraid to be weird, funny, dramatic, or heartfelt. That makes it easier to find a story that clicks with someone. You’re not just reading for reading’s sake—you’re reading because you care.
We’ve seen it happen in real life. Kids who “hated reading” get hooked on series like My Hero Academia, Naruto, or Demon Slayer, and suddenly they’re flipping pages faster than their teachers can believe. Adults too! Manga isn’t just for kids, and reading is for everyone.
We can end adult illiteracy, boost confidence, and inprove entire communities by making reading fun, easy, accessible, and reaching people as early as possible; and when we can’t, we can meet them where they are. There’s a Manga for everyone!

This trend isn't unique to Tennessee, NAEP scores are doing poorly across the country. This means the problem is systemic, we're coming at the problem from a different angle; with Manga, reading is fun!

There are direct parallels between illiteracy and poverty. Its more important then ever to create an affordable solution.
Our New Goal: Open a Library
We believe that literacy should be within reach for everyone. That’s why we’re working to create something truly transformative: a community-powered library built not just with books, in fact we don't plan to have books in a traditional sense at all. Instead we plan for a Manga library with purpose.
Right now, millions of people are being left behind, not because they lack intelligence or potential, but because they were never given the tools to do better. As time goes on it limits job opportunities. It isolates people from their communities. It makes everyday tasks—from reading medicine labels to helping with homework feel impossible. To make things worse, the "3rd space", or a place that is neither home nor work or school has been dissapearing. Its harder and harder for young people to find places to hang out. We can fix both!
A place where stories that don't just spark imagination, but the desire to continue reading, continue learning. Where people find the tools they need to succeed, where families gather to learn and grow, and where they can find that new place to hang out, a new community to be apart of.
This isn’t just about Manga. It’s about Literacy. Creativity. Friendship. Empowerment. Opprotunity.
Our vision is to open a library that offers:
- A welcoming, inclusive collection for readers of all ages and levels
- Access to technology, internet, and tools for job seekers and entrepreneurs
- Community programs—from early literacy to digital skills workshops
- A safe, inspiring place for students, families, and lifelong learners
This won’t be a traditional library. It’ll be a launchpad—for self-confidence, for education, for independence. We know what’s at stake. And we know that with the right resources, illiteracy is not a life sentence.
We see a future where this library becomes the heartbeat of our neighborhood—a place where people come not only to read, but to dream bigger.
But we can’t do this alone. We’re asking for your support—whether it’s time, talent, funding, or simply sharing our vision. Every step forward brings us closer to opening our doors.
Let’s build something that lasts.
Let’s build a better future—together.
Let’s build a library.
